A scented product made by dissolving aromatic compounds in alcohol, graded by concentration into categories such as parfum, eau de parfum, and eau de toilette.
To photograph big cats like leopards and jaguars, researchers lure them with Calvin Klein's cologne 'Obsession for Men'. In a 2003 Bronx Zoo test of 24 scents, cats loved it — cheetahs lingered 11 minutes on average, versus 2 seconds for some.

Ambergris, produced in the intestines of sperm whales, has been used as a luxury perfume ingredient since ancient times. It forms when undigested prey binds with bile into a solid mass—it smells terrible initially but becomes an exceptional fragrance material after processing.
