Easter Island

Moai statues on Easter Island have wide D-shaped bases and lean slightly forward, so rocking them side to side with ropes — like walking a refrigerator — lets them inch forward. A 2012 experiment proved it: 18 people 'walked' a 4.3-ton replica over 100 meters this way.
