Corpse flower
Just before blooming, the corpse flower (Amorphophallus titanum) heats itself up to about 20°F (11°C) above ambient temperature. The heat helps vaporize putrescine and other rot-smelling compounds over a wider distance, luring carrion beetles and flies in as pollinators.
